Cinnamon Apple Chips Recipe

✨CINNAMON APPLE CHIPS ✨

Course: Dessert, Snack

Servings: 4

Calories: 88 kcal

Author: Carrie’s Experimental Kitchen

Ingredients

4 Apples, cored and sliced 1/8” thick (I used McIntosh)

1-2 tsp . Ground Cinnamon

1-2 tsp . Granulated Sugar, if needed

Cooking Spray

Preheat oven to 200 degrees fahrenheit.

Add the sliced apples to a large bowl; then coat the apples with the cinnamon and/or sugar.

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and line the apples flat on the pan. You may need to use two pans so that they are not overlapping.

Bake 2-3 hours until the chips are dry yet still soft. Allow to cool completely before placing them in an air tight container for up to 4 days (if they last that long!).

Growth Is a Process

If you always play the victim and never take accountability for your actions. You’ll always remain in the same place, same situations with the same outcomes.

Growth consists of putting your pride aside no matter how right you think you are.

It’s about admitting when you’re wrong even if you feel humiliated by your own actions.

It’s about acknowledging someone else is right and respecting their position.

It’s consists of giving credit to those that are in a better position than you without looking for a “flaw” to capitalize on or attempting to degrade them. Remember, you don’t know their struggles. This is their moment to shine. Respect it!

If everyone was wrong and you’re always the victim, then why aren’t you in the position you desire to be in? Don’t think long on this one and try to blame someone for how they made you feel or make another excuse as to how something got in the way. It’s you! You’re the common denominator.

You have to stop playing the victim and become the warrior of your life. Take control of the obstacles life has thrown your way and never forget the lessons it taught you. Carry yourself humbly, repent others and always be gracious.

That’s what growth is and you deserve it. Don’t sell yourself short. You have a legacy to create!™️

5 Things You Should Know About Starting Your New Business

1- Not everyone that is in your inner circle will approve or support you initially and that’s ok.

2-You have to be willing to work hard. No work equates to no results.

3-A volunteer army are not necessarily the soldiers you would choose. Just because a lending hand is being given out, be careful where it comes from.

4-Success is whatever YOU want it to be. Make a vision board to help bring them life!

5-Hope is not a strategy!

DIARY OF AN AUTISM MOM

Watching my son become more independent and want to put himself to sleep has me in tears.

He was able to tell me he was hungry, what he wants for a snack and then said “goodnight mommy, I’m going to bed now” right after.

For those that have experience with autism, 6 months ago this would have been a 2 hour meltdown before he could tell me what’s going on and then would result in a sleepless night of maybe 3 hours of sleep-if we were lucky.

🔍📝🔒What I have learned…..📚

Don’t give up on your child if they need extra attention to be “normal”. Don’t ignore them when they’re trying to communicate to you. Listen to what they are trying to convey. They’re smarter than you think. They’re tuned a little differently and sometimes it’s more advanced than we expected. Never underestimate their abilities!!

🤔What did I do?
I incorporated some better eating habits. It’s still a challenge but I’m doing it as much as I can. Thank you Al Diaz & Charity Wise for your help.

😱😳I didn’t sleep for almost a year trying to enforce routine. It didn’t work. I learned that my son likes to be over stimulated to go to bed. Meaning, tv on, classical music in the background and tablet background noise. I also use the Himalayan salt lamp Charity gifted him because he truly admires his “potato” lamp and I use different types of calming essential oils. Yes‼️ It took all of that to finally have him sleep through the night. Almost 2 years to figure this out and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my fiancé too. He would stay up 3 days straight just so I can catch up on sleep because my body was shutting down. He tried his best to help Kaiden with his separation anxiety from me at night. He did an awesome job! ♥️

Once this was solved, routine became a norm to Kaiden and he loves it. 🙌🏽

We work on diffusing his anger by communicating and practicing breathing. I ask him “remember how Dr.G & Jacy ask you to breathe through the stethoscope?” (Yes, I use that word. Remember what I said-don’t underestimate their intelligence. My son likes to be spoken to like an adult-not a child). He laughs and says “yes mommy, you’re so silly” and he takes deep breaths in and out. We accomplished redirecting his anger. 🙌🏽💪🏽💙

I share this with you because just a couple months ago I was on here crying in my videos almost hopeless with my diary of an autism mom videos. I refuse to do a video now because all I will do is cry like a big old baby and will get nothing out lol 🙈🙈

🙏🏽I pray this post serves as a token of faith to those parents that feel like it won’t get better or are becoming hopeless. You are all they have. Keep fighting because it truly gets easier to handle as you learn their trigger points. It will always be a battle but when you work together with your child, instead of assuming you know what’s best-it Just has a tendency of working in everyone’s favor. I’m still learning but maybe this will help other #autism moms & dads. 💙💙💙

Three (Cheap!) Beauty Hacks You Need in Your Life Right Now

We love beauty products — and we love them even more when they don’t break the bank.  We’ve got three amazing products you have to try.  The best part (besides the fact that they actually work) is that they’re all under $15!  Whether you want longer lashes, longer hair, or clearer skin, these three babies got your back.

1.  Majestic Pure Sweet Almond Oil

Argan oil usually gets all the shine (no pun intended) but almond oil is ah-mazing for your skin and hair.  It’s super versatile and is usually hypoallergenic (unless you’re allergic to almonds).  It has lots of moisturizing vitamin E, and may even help prevent acne because of its vitamin A content.

Beauty hack:  Mix almond oil with some sugar for an all natural face scrub to exfoliate.

2.  aztec secret indian healing clay

This 100% calcium bentonite clay has been dubbed the “world’s most powerful facial.” Almost every mineral found on Earth is present in this volcanic ash.  It’s 100% natural and boasts over 50 skin healing and nourishing minerals. It literally pulls all the yucky stuff out of your pores; it’s amazing. You can also put a few scoops in your bath water — it helps detoxify and pull toxins out of the skin.

Beauty hack:  Make a healing face mask.  Simply mix equal parts of the powder with warm water or raw apple cider vinegar in a glass or plastic bowl. (Do not use metal, as this interacts with the clay.)  Apply it to your face and other areas of your body and let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes before washing off with warm water. The absolute max to leave it on is 45 minutes. You can use it once or twice a week; up to three times a week for problem skin.

3.  majestic pure castor oil eyelash serum

We all want long, luxurious lashes.  While there’s certainly the option of applying falsies and extensions, those can sometimes irritate your eyes or even damage your natural lashes if they’re not applied properly.  Why take the risk?  Simply treat your lashes (or brows) with this eyelash serum and you’re likely to see a noticeable difference within a month or so.

Beauty hack:  For longer, thicker lashes and brows, apply the serum to the eyelashes with the mascara wand and at the lash line with the eyeliner brush.  Use nightly for at least a month to see results.

Seven Simple Ways to Maximize Your Time

As a mom and an entrepreneur, chances are there’s probably just never enough time in the day.  When it’s mid-day and your house is a wreck, your to-do list is long, and your toddler is covered in this morning’s breakfast, it’s hard to fathom that we have the same 24 hours in a day that Beyonce and Oprah have.  We can’t create time…but we can free some up.  Here’s how.

Identify your time-wasters.  Make a list.

You’d be really surprised at how much time you spend mindlessly scrolling through social media or watching cat videos when you should be working or doing something otherwise productive.  Review how you spend your days (how you actually spend your time; not how you want to) and write down what you usually do when you’re procrastinating or otherwise wasting time.  The next time you find yourself googling random junk or watching your 100th Instagram story, you’ll know it’s time to log off and get productive.

Hide or delete apps if you need to.

If it’s just too tempting, hit delete.  You can always reinstall Twitter after you’ve hit your deadlines and accomplished whatever goals you had set for yourself for the day.

Schedule appointments, create an agenda, and stick with it.

There’s no need for what can be done in 20 minutes to take an hour.  Schedule your meetings with hard start and stop times, and stick to it.  Make an agenda so that you can keep your meeting on track, and again, stick with it.  You’ll be surprised at how much time you can shave off meetings and appointments when you stick to the script.  The people you’re meeting with will appreciate your stellar time management skills as well.

Prioritize your priorities — start with your most vital tasks first.

It may be tempting to see how many small tasks you can knock out in a big block of time, but once you’ve finished all the small stuff, you may be out of energy and balking at the idea of tackling a larger, more energy intensive task when all you want to do is wind down.  Start the exhausting stuff first, get it out of the way, and go from there.

Set strict boundaries with your time.

Just because you’re a business owner doesn’t mean you need to be available to everyone 24/7.  It’s counterintuitive, we know…but the reality of the situation is that the work will still be there for you to do in an hour, two hours, or tomorrow.  As long as you’re courteous to your clients and handling your business, there’s no harm in not being at someone’s beck and call 24/7.  Isn’t that why you became your own boss to begin with?   If you stop for every interruption that comes your way, you’ll never be able to focus on getting your work done.  Seriously, no one expects you to have a five minute response time at 2 am.  Set up “office hours” where people know they can expect you to be available — otherwise, set an appointment.

Use your waiting time wisely.

Waiting in the doctor’s office?  On hold listening to elevator music?  Got an extra 10 minutes before your next meeting?  That’s more than enough time to shoot a few emails, listen to your voicemail, or read a few pages of a book.  Instead of scrolling through the same 10 posts on Facebook, take advantage of the extra few minutes.

Listen to audiobooks while commuting.

Most of us spend a lot of time in our cars.  This is a great opportunity to pop in an audiobook and catch up on some reading — or rather, listening.  Bonus points if it’s educational material.
